As I was writing this article, I asked my self: Would this be an Obama Article, again? Definitely a NO! Though, I would be referring to President Obama’s success in his powerful use of Web 2.0. This article would definitely talk about on how social media can help YOU in this plummeting economy.

An article titled, “How Social Media Helped Barack Obama to Become the Most Powerful Man”, gave a blow by blow account of how the President embraces Social Media and use it to reach out and be heard by the people. Some of the stories of how Obama camgpaign affected so many people, brought tears to my eyes; there are just so many untold and heroic stories all because of President Obama through social networks.

But my question is: Could social media help an ordinary user like me or YOU? The answer is: Yes, the social networks that we are an active member can help us in some ways to either get hired or just be heard.

Though before our families in these social networks can help us; they need to know what happen to us. We need to advertise ourselves in these social networks.

Here are some suggestions on how social media can help me and YOU.

• Join social networks like Linked In, Facebook, Myspace, Ning, and twitter.

• Fill in your profile in these networks. Beforehand, you got to be a visible member of these social networks.

• As you join Linked In, ask your contacts to recommend you. And participate in the Question and Answer so that your expertise can be known.

• Connect or bond with your twitter friends and families in your local area. To have so many friends means so many news bearer of Jobs Vacancy in your local area. The story of chrisbrogan@twitter is such an inspiring one. He lost a job and was hired by a family on twitter.

I really got a bleak feeling that thousands I wish not millions of people would be jobless for the next few months. Yet, my next hope would be- that these people would know how to advertise themselves to the World Wide Web so that employers can get hold of quality manpower all over the world.

The newly elected American president Barack Obama announced that every week he will be directing the citizens with video messages on Youtube.

As Diario Ti commented today as part of its mission to introduce technological tools in the government, Barack Obama announces that weekly he will publish messages to his citizens on Youtube.

The speeches to the people are not an invention of Obama, for various years there has been a custom of the American president to make a weekly speech on the radio for the citizens. However, Obama will make the same message but more compatible with the times, recorded on video and published on Youtube.

The decision to use Youtube as a canal of frequent and lively communication with the American citizens is because it is a technology praised by Obama. Between these things, he has incorporated a text messaging service, Facebook and Twitter in his presidential campaign.

Whilst he waits for his move to the White House, the elected president has already started transmitting the weekly speeches onto video of the democrats. The speeches are also published on the website Change.gov

Many people believe that President-elect Barack Obama’s conquest of the White House would be recorded in the history of US politics as the first election which politicians use social media. It was very successful campaign of the Obama political campaign team since he defeated the Clinton machine and also John McCain, which was a clear victory too for the social media. This is simply because the Obama team who managed his campaign has used the power of social media

Social networking sites like You Tube and Twitter played great rules because millions of people were members of these sites. The microblogging style of twitter was also very helpful because it was widely used in the social campaign of the Obama campaign machinery.

Through the presence of social media tools individual voters have many opportunities to access wide range of information about the candidates who participated in the electoral process. They can easily follow their favorite candidates and know their various platforms of government because of these tools such as blogs, social networks, sharing of photos and videos.

As far as the Obama campaign is concerned, they were able to put up a completely solid campaign and created an unforeseen force through the internet which made them able to raise more funds locally and internationally, and made their best smear campaigns which first topple down the deadly Clinton machine, the JohnMcCain clout as well as the Republicans.

The movement that they’ve created was extra-ordinary as through the power of social media they were able to convince even non-American people to support for the Obama presidency. It was an amazing support of the people of the world to stand by the side of the first black leader to govern America.

There’s no doubt that the unprecedented win of Barack Obama to the presidency in America against his political rival John McCain was also because of the wide support of people who use social media networking sites to actively campaign for Obama.

Twitter alone established special pages just for the “US presidential elections 2008” and the amazing thing that happened were the millions of Americans and non-Americans who responded to the project, such posting their support for Obama, issuing positive comments and more tweets to support the Obama candidacy. This also shows how important social media plays an important role nowadays in the developments of the region, most especially during election that is always awaited by all people of the world.

Even Facebook users associated with him also supported Obama down to the last minute of the campaign trail. This also means Obama has also captured many kinds of audience and not only businessmen and professionals.

I remember few weeks ago over Social Spark there were some opportunities to write about Obama but I was not only lucky, or maybe those opportunities were only for people living in America. I don’t know if the said campaigns came from Obama’s headquarters or from his supporters. That campaign certainly helped since if there were hundreds of opportunities it also means hundreds of weblogs where Obama articles were also posted. I’m sure it also gained thousands of links most especially if the websites have hundreds of followers every day.

Indeed, social media networking nowadays is really helpful – whether you are in business, associations or politicians who want to gain support from the mass base of readers. You only need to consult the experts in online marketing and you can get what you want.

Obama’s win is also history for the American people. He is the first black to become president of the United States of America. Now, many Americans are hoping he could make America great again by initiating very laudable measures helping the economy in America bounce back and many more.
