WordPress has just released their latest version which is WordPress 2.7 “Coltrane” on December 11, 2008. With the new interface and other features of this upgrade, the popular blogging software has just innovated the way we use WordPress to the next level.

One of the latest features on this version is the new interface which is very nice and handy. You can arrange your layouts just simply click, drag and drop your columns on your dashboard which way you prefer best.

You can also reply on comments instantly from your dashboard without going directly into your post.

Another feature on this latest version is the ability to install any plugin directly and view updates on your dashboard. Also, the moderation tools of the latest WordPress version are very handy and less time consuming. Compared to the older version, this is way better by a mile.

This maybe the last time you will upgrade wordpress manually ever. The 2.7 version is capable upgrading your wordpress automatically just by a single click.

WordPress 2.7 “Coltrane” is inspired and named in honor by the late John Coltrane. Coltrane was an American jazz saxophonist and composer. He was known by his influence in music through generations and how he reshaped modern jazz.

One of the reasons why the WordPress 2.7 “Coltrane” version is so great compared to older versions of WordPress is that the community really helped to make this version happen. Over 150 people from the community contributed.
