Youtube marks three years of successful video sharing
Online video is very dominant today in the worldwide web especially in the entertainment industry. A lot of talents are discovered and they become so popular with the help of online video advertising. Even business companies are using online videos to advertise their products and services. In fact, a lot of online videos are now scattered all over the internet competing each other as to who gets the millions of visitors during the marketing period.
According to comScore Inc. (the leading global internet information provider), Youtube.com, a subsidiary of Google Inc., got 99.5 million viewers in October of 2008. Viewers were mostly from the United States who watched 5.3 billion videos on YouTube or an average of 53.2 videos per viewer.
Also, the online presence of President Barack Obama during presidential campaign period contributed a big factor on the rising of percentage of viewers from the period covered in the report because of the election in the United States. This is another great achievement of YouTube after just being appointed as Secretary of Video by US elected President Barack Obama.
Youtube was launched last February 2005 and by November 2006 Google purchased it. There were three years already of its existence in the web and it continuously attracted more users and viewers’ worldwide. Thus, in return to its valuable users, Youtube is awarding honors to videos into different categories: daily, weekly, monthly and all time.
