Swine Flu virus outsmarts phenomenal diva Susan Boyle

Swine Flu

As I was closely following the phenomenal diva with the voice of an angel, Susan Boyle on Britain’s Got Talent, I was again shocked with the sudden turn of event as the focus of people on Susan was gradually caught by the dreaded Swine Flu virus that is now wrecking havoc in Mexico, Britain and the United States. People in these countries, that were touched by the amazing voice of “Britain’s Got Talent wannabe, are now turning their backs on Susan and started to focus their coverage on the virus which had already killed people, according to reports.

In fact, since the virus sudden attacks in some areas in Mexico, social media sites have already gathered initial reports the virus is indeed outsmarting Susan in terms of popularity. According to Nielsen, one of the reliable tracker firms in the US, the popularity of swine flu has nearly doubled in 24 hours after it started to scare people from all walks of life.

The Nielsen Wire blog said Twitter, forums and web news were all reporting about the scary virus and nearly 60 percent of blogs since Tuesday also talked about the swine flu scare. It said that based on reliable data gathered by Nielsen, the hot web topics about the virus has significantly generated five times as compared to the buzz that internet diva Susan Boyle had also generated few days ago. The swine flu virus even out-buzzed the salmonella scare back in early part of this year.

The BlogPulse also reported that when comparing to other health crisis in the past or the so-called pop culture meme, the blog conversations about the swine flu virus were now ten times higher than the salmonella scare which was also covered by the social media sites earlier this year.
