Myspace Update
Rumor emerged that MySpace will be attaining the 1 billion mark of the company’s revenue this year despite the economic plunge that they are facing lately. However, the company did not confirm if the rumor is true. According to the president of sales and marketing of MySpace Jeff Berman, the company’s interest today is to reach their revenue to 1 billion but decline to comment on the actual number in public. “There’s a lot of popping here,” Berman said. “We’re guardedly optimistic,” he said.
Although MySpace was dethrone by Facebook for being the most use of traffic worldwide, Facebook was struggling with regards to its revenue side. The Beacon which is part of Facebook’s advertisement system has been an upset by having controversies because of privacy concern. Mark Zuckerberg who is known as the chief execute of Facebook said that it would take for them more than a year to achieve their dream as one of the most successful business models and that they are focusing on its traffic progress side.
With MySpace recently launched MyAds (their self serve ad platform) as their significant major revenue source, local advertisers can pay for at least $25 at a start. This would mean a great offer for advertisers and a great opportunity to boost the revenue growth for MySpace.And because of that they are aiming to have great revenue and more success for the years to come.
