Internet addiction disorder threatens game-savvy kids

It has been said by many people that the entry of the internet as best contribution in technology, ever developed by experts, is phenomenal. It enables easy access of friends, businessmen and professionals to their networks online. The positive side of this development is overwhelming. However, lately a new disorder has been identified by health experts and this is called the Internet Addiction Disorder (IAD).

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), however, has not yet listed this but continuing research has been going lately as this problem is really occurring and creating concerns among parents, whose kids are addicted to online games and other internet-based activities. Among the famous of this includes the “World of Warcraft.”

The Heavensfield Retreat Center has already introduced its first ever recovery program to combat the so-called gaming addiction among kids. The program is dubbed as reSTART, designed to bring seriously-hit kids back to normal lives again.
