How to avoid the virus Koobface to protect social networking sites
Social networking nowadays has been very much famous all over the world as a means of communication, business and services. There are various kinds of social network sites and most of them have millions of users. But the most famous social networks are facebook, Myspace and friendsters. As we noticed everyday it seems that there are millions of users signing in or signing up on the said social network sites. However, recently news divulged that the risks of these social network sites remained since it was first discovered last year.
The virus called Koobface has infected the latter social networks all over the world. It has been said that the virus has more than 500 variants which had been found in the computers. The infected computer will send false urls posting through popular social networking sites like facebook, Myspace and friendster. If the user will click the false urls it would start downloading to the computer and eventually the process will be over. The virus is too dangerous to the said social networking sites because it would allow the hackers to steal your personal data.
According to Stefan Tanase a researcher from the Kapersky Labs that this kind of virus is really risky so she warned the users to have extra care when they received urls because it might be a Koobface virus. Tanase also advice the users to always update their computer with security software to avoid these kind of viruses.
