Happy Birthday Google

….mute…speechless….

Yes. I could not just grasp for the right words how google on its 11 birthday had literally save lives of thousands of people in the Philippines. Google map was used by the rescuers to locate streets and villages that were submerged by the flood thus saving people on top of their roof tops.

As I was searching for google translate I got interested with google news; I was dumbfounded to learn that last Sunday was google’s 11th birthday and celebrated it with a ‘double l’ on the its logo for sunday that confuses billions of users on that very day. I was so sad to have missed it and just searched for the picture on the web to take a glimpse of what they are raving about.

And yes I stumbled on Brennon Slaterry’s article and my frustration disappeared and was replaced by elation. The article talks about reasons why the author can not live without google and yes the article gave justice to the reasons of the loyalty of the google users.

The gmail document has made it possible for its users to translate their document to over 42 languages. Google’s browser is also undergoing development that is predicted to surpass any browsers superpowers. Gmail itself is a wonder as google has integrated its feature into gmail. Yet, googles project of scanning books has been so criticized that google has been sued in the court. Thus, millions of bookworms is twisting their hands and crossing their fingers as they prayed that google can continue scanning very books and made available for millions of google users.

Another birthday celebrator is Confucius. The Chinese community is celebrating the philosophers birthday with a three day festival. And google celebrates with them with a wonderful Confucius logo.

About the Author

Beverly

Reading is my passion. To create pictures from words is my dream. To be able to write and convey message, influence and move people is one of my fantasies. Avery effective writer at that. I also want to be an educator... not only in the four corners of a classroom but also beyond those enclosures. I want to be an educator... of life, love, languages and travel. I have already started the process of becoming one. I am studying to get a certificate for teaching to get a licensed and become a licensed educator. Let it be through internet or through a university. It will take me a year to complete my Professional Education. I have always been fascinated with languages and now is the right time to reach it. I aim to communicate at least 1 European language let it be Spanish, Italian or French. To be able to widen my horizons and reach out and understand articles and blogs beyond the English language. Besides reading and writing… travel… is another glory. Someday I will be able to blog about cities that captures the heart of many. I am also a fanatic of Greek Mythology and Inspirational Stories and Poem. One poem written by an 85 year old woman dying of cancer “If I have My Life to Live All Over Again” and a short story “The Story of Rose” are just two of my favorites.
