Facebook outsmarts Google in traffic generation?

Many people and Facebookers around the globe were shock to hear the news that social media network Facebook has outsmarted Google in terms of traffic generation. Well, we can only say nothing is impossible today with the emergence of new technology.

The report was first published in AdAge.com and it sounds credible as last year there were already rumors that a couple of sites are really dominating in as far as driving traffic to their sites. Aside from Facebook, there were the social networks like Twitter and Flickr that were earlier reported to be doing very well.

To substantiate this report there were datas that were presented. It said that Perez Hilton gossip website, for example, has successfully drive traffic of at least 8.7 percent from its page in Facebook, while there were only 7.6 from Google. The date presented by AdAge.com is really something that internet marketers should consider. It’s not a joke to see figures like this. However, it should be made clear that with this figure alone, Google was behind in terms of percentages, and this is really something. Even the Flickr and Twitter sites are also considered of having tremendous traffic in the previous years.

The Aberdeen Group, a consultancy firm, has also reported that marketers are now thinking of looking at social media as an effective tool to promote any line of products. The online market is so big and the clients can be easily marketed through the use of modern technology.

There are also predictions that the economic downturn in America will not exactly affect the emerging social media networks in term of online advertising, as many marketers have started to notice the effective approaches and strategies used by social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Flickr. Although most companies in many sectors will really struggle to survive the crisis in the United States.
