The most common Social Media Mistakes

Since Social Media Marketing is a relatively new sector marketers have just started to test its many possibilities, sometimes engaging in very successful viral actions but in the learning process also committing what have already been identified as “errors” due to the Social Networks and communities environments and their “logical” behavior.

Some of the mistakes are:

  • Fake profiles, content or interaction: You have to be honest and transparent to gain respect and succeed in the long term.
  • Ignore other users, instead of engage in the community interaction
  • Sell without giving first. You have to help the community before trying to sell or promote yourself
  • Trying to participate in too much networks at the same time. You have to identify the most relevant, important ones for your niche to be able to engage as a highly valued user
  • Not being constant. You have to participate often enough and be always alert of what it is being said.
