How to be “social” in Social Media?
I like the new tips of search marketing guru Liana “Li” Evans because it gives comprehensive advice about how to be ‘social’ in social media. Yes, it’s true that it’s not enough to just put your Twitter or Facebook Fun pages and expect more in return. It’s all about how you also manage your reputation online.
There are many bloggers and business people who think they are good in social media because they know how to do it. Only to realize later that they’re failures just because they failed to share, interact and value relationships online. Now here’s how Li manages her good reputation online:
- Be real and drop the ego – Li says that in the social media space its not actually about you, your brand or services that really counts but how the community shares experiences as well as what they think and value your brand or services you are selling. You need to be true to yourself, be transparent about who you are because you are telling them to trust in you and your products. That’s why Li says you need to drop your ego and be able to make a real contact with people online.
- Share without expectation – When you promote something online do not expect that you will get responses right away, or you will benefit more links right away. It’s all about sharing without expectation. You just have to say “Hey we want your feedback about our product, about what you think with it. Do not expect anything.
- Engage others – It’s very important that you should engage with your audience so that you can get information what they feel about your products or services. Engage, engage is the name of the game and this means asking your audience questions. You can actually ask them to say something, leave comments on the blog posts. Engaging with them doesn’t need you to be tactful but always friendly all the time.
