Professional Networking
LinkedIn is a professional networking and a business oriented networking site. It is founded last December 2002 and launched last May 2003. It is one of the top in social media, with an alexa rank of 216 and a Page Rank of 8.
The purpose of LinkedIn is to allow all registered users to maintain their contact details, as well as the contact details of the people they trust and know in the business. So this means that you will have lots of connections and it’s up to you whether you add them or invite your friends to become part of you contact lists.
This is in short a list of connections that can be utilized in so many purposes.
• Build direct connections. You can use it to create positive introduction to someone you know or you wish to make as a trusted contact.
• Search people and business opportunities recommended by the people in your contact list.
• Make a list of job offers and the potential candidates for the designated jobs.
It is of utmost necessity to build trust with your contacts.
If we have yahoo answers and google answers, there is also LinkedIn Answers which allows you to ask questions and the community will give you the answers you might be looking for. This is also free, but the differences it has between yahoo answers and google answers is that, the questions commonly adhered to, are more business oriented.
