Facebook to hit the Big Screens

The renowned screenwriter Aaron Sorkin has announced his plans to make a film about the social networking giant Facebook. Sorkin, whose writing credits include the enormously popular West Wing, will base his story around the creation of the 60 million member site over 4 years ago in the campus of Ivy League university Harvard, going on to explore what exactly the site has that has made it worth over 16 billion dollars.
The film will be written for Sony and the producer Scott Rudin and is set to make millions; the story is, after all, phenomenal. Members put their whole lives online – uploading photos and videos, keeping in touch with international friends through messages and arranging real life events through comments and notes – it really is an indispensable tool for the modern world. What is more, given that businesses are now getting involved with Facebook and using it to promote events, special offers and new releases, being without it really means you could be missing out.
