But as the saying goes with power comes great responsibility. we can not but deny that there are minors using the social network Facebook. High school students are already into Facebook and I can not blame them for I for one is a Facebook addict. I can not just start a day without checking my Facebook account and checking what everybody has been doing.

A person new to social networking will have no hesitation in giving out personal information from his complete physical address, name, school, and even the telephone numbers. Besides that others will not hesitate to upload titillating pictures.

So what am I up to?

I saw a video of how Facebook became a tool in the completion of a crime. I am worried and alarmed by this. If anybody who has bad intentions will really find and trace to your home. Your home must and should be your sagest haven but due to ignorance kids and adults alike can endanger the safeness of the home.

This article is both for parents and the children who are using social networks that they should be extra careful and should orient their children on the proper and safe way of using the social networks.

With the power that the Internet rings should be a great responsibility for parents and society to orient the children in the proper usage of the social network.

We know that we can not stop the popularity of Facebook. We know we can not deny that our children have the possibility of getting hook on this social network. If we deny them the privilege of using any social network at home then they will go out and get it outside which is much dangerous for they will be unguided. The curiosity of our children with social network can not be stop for it is the talk about in our society. How can we stop it when we hear hear it in our daily news and we hear it at school and at work.

So the best thing that parents should do is to orient the children with the social network and teach them the safe and responsible way of using it.

Why would they stay the same when all these are taken into another height and level of awareness?

The Oscars Awards is prestigious at the same bulleted with controversies and issues. Long time ago ‘controversial’ figure will have to wait for the interview request from the media and news network to air their side of the controversy. But now it only takes a flick of a finger and whoa everybody now knows what you can say about the story.

Twitter is really a marvel both for the ordinary people and the stars in Hollywood. The mini-tweets that they can air are mini-representation of the most current emotions and status of their minds. They do not even need the television crews in the land and it only takes an internet connection and all its gadgets to voice out your opinion.

I believe that the stars that receive the award immediately went to open their twitter accounts to shout their latest conquest. The most interesting tweets are from those who did not receive the awards. For I know they would have to make an uplifting tweets.

Facebook accounts of these stars both the winners and the losers would definitely have pictures for the fans to grab. The 82nd Oscars Academy Awards are never as much as covered as it is today. That is a thank you to hundreds of social networks that now exist.

I have to admit again I am the last about the internet world. Though, online games are a niche that I intend to conquer but the when is not yet set. Yes, as a normal breathing human being, we should get abreast with the latest news and fads or games that people get crazy about.

Here are the list of the events that prodded me to at least try the facebook applications.

1. The Farmtown mania hit the office long before the Michael Jackson mania hit town. Yet, I was not prodded until my nieces go crazy about it and ask my email add not for any other reason but for Farm town. Now, so here I come and got hooked with Farm town but to my disappoint it was not Farm Town that I got hooked with every morning but Farmville. There is a difference you know.

2. The next guy in town is farming already and even the normal media man plays farm town before they wrote their news for the next day. Mind you I sat down with the most popular media man in our town and to my amusement well he played farm town for an hour before starting to write the news the next day. I made sure that I visited the news stand to read his article the next day. I was just curious.

3. Facebook applications vary from mafia to the tame Cafe world and Fishville and Farm Town. Yet are these applications good for children or for adults? I have to admit that the ‘child’ in me is reawakened every time I play any of Facebook applications. As a person who studies human behavior I have to say that facebook application are good if moderately played by both adults and children.

If parents know how to handle their kids by letting them play with the game you are giving them the chance to be a child and be aware of the latest fad during their time. But overdoing is another story.

Christmas Holiday is long but with facebook in your house… daddy and the children could compete who got the highest score on a chosen facebook application. It will never be a boring holiday and that is a big thank you to facebook.

Even families separated by distance can feel the closeness this Christmas season. They can play one game and build camaraderie and friendship.

The killings is said to have political reasons. It is first time in the journalism’s history that it has sufferred such a great loss in one day.

Social Media has made such relay of information easier. The call for justice and call for unity are made easier through twitter and Facebook- two of the most popular social network.

Every blogger and Facebook user has posted a black ribbon in their blogs as a sign of mourning for the loss of lives. You Tube Videos uploaded within 22 hours now have been viewed 9,166 times as of the writing of this article. Tweets directed to presidentiables and leaders are proliferating like hot cakes. You Tube Updates are now being uploaded. And people should expect more videos to come up as the days fly past. Videos or pictures of the said will surely go to the web unedited.
And these make every media fear for their safety.

Social Media has again played a very significant role once again in Philippine History from the Ondoy Storm to today’s news. Social media has transformed the way people ask help from each other and it has quickened the news from ear to another.

They termed it as memorializing the recently deceased. This “memorializing” feature was inspired when Facebook was still on its early stage and was composed of a 40 man team. Imagine the bonding between these team mates and suddenly one of them died…according to the article I read, right after the team mate’s death the whole team met up and one of the talks came on the memorializing of such good friend through keeping his Facebook profile yet with some changes.

Here are the changes:

    * You won’t find the friends name on the suggested names list when you suggest a certain application in the social network.
* Other one is the profile can not be accessed anymore and thus hidden to any search except when you are a confirmed friend.
* Confidential data is erased.
* The profile is protected by hackers through locking it in all log-ins.
* And of course only friends can visit and post on this “deceased friend” profile page.
* Memorializing a friend means telling each other of the good things the person has done when he was still alive.

But how about the ‘pranksters’ who will memorialize still the living friends?

ANSWER: Facebook staff will be asking proofs like a link to a news announcing the death of a person or perhaps a scanned legal documents that proves the person’s death.

I never thought of the impact of commemorating or memorializing a friend death (did I say this sentence right?) until a priest explain it to us. He says that human beings are indeed a sacred creature and has angels that guard us. As soon as we die, this angel will report all the good things that your friends will share with each other. That is why in some wake, ‘memorializing’ a recently deceased friend is important so that the deceased person angels has good things to say to the Heaven’s gate keeper and thus allow passage for the dead. Either this is true or not. This idea gives an explanation why there is such thing as memorializing.

Now my question: Will Facebook Save Your Soul when you die?

At this time of high-technology and fast paced era, sometimes memorializing a recently deceased, in a city wherein almost everybody is not a friend but a passing acquaintance is of no use. But this recently deceased person has families worldwide and FACEBOOK is there only connection. Thus, memorializing still happen but with a DIFFERENT MEDIUM- facebook page and walls.

Will this count?
Will the angels still go up there and tell the Heaven’s gatekeeper that hey, “so and so has made a good impact with other people”.

And the proof? Hey, heaven gate keeper look at the Facebook page maaaan!

The computer savvy would definitely have no problems in the maneuvering of these URL shortening sites. Let us take a look of some user friendly URL shortenings sites. There are 11 URL shortening sites being compared by Lee Odden on his article and I tired all of these and tried to come up with something that is easier for me to use for the microblogging services like twitter. I found is.gd, tweetburner and budurl a little bit confusing to use especially that I am always in a hurry to shorten a url but once you get used to these sites you find it easy to use them. But tinyURL, cligs, zima, bitly, snipurl.com, poprl.com,ad.vu, tr.im, the easiest to use for neophytes. tiny url though is much more closer to the hearts of the many new users for you do not have to sign up to get a short url.

I use so many url shortening in my daily promotion and it helps a lots when you know several. for marketing purposes, these url shortening sites give you different ways of posting one url. Thus, you can promote one url several times with different url short cuts. The different url short cuts will hinder the monotonous look of your profile. What are the uses of the url shortening besides those I mentioned?

Yes. I could not just grasp for the right words how google on its 11 birthday had literally save lives of thousands of people in the Philippines. Google map was used by the rescuers to locate streets and villages that were submerged by the flood thus saving people on top of their roof tops.

As I was searching for google translate I got interested with google news; I was dumbfounded to learn that last Sunday was google’s 11th birthday and celebrated it with a ‘double l’ on the its logo for sunday that confuses billions of users on that very day. I was so sad to have missed it and just searched for the picture on the web to take a glimpse of what they are raving about.

And yes I stumbled on Brennon Slaterry’s article and my frustration disappeared and was replaced by elation. The article talks about reasons why the author can not live without google and yes the article gave justice to the reasons of the loyalty of the google users.

The gmail document has made it possible for its users to translate their document to over 42 languages. Google’s browser is also undergoing development that is predicted to surpass any browsers superpowers. Gmail itself is a wonder as google has integrated its feature into gmail. Yet, googles project of scanning books has been so criticized that google has been sued in the court. Thus, millions of bookworms is twisting their hands and crossing their fingers as they prayed that google can continue scanning very books and made available for millions of google users.

Another birthday celebrator is Confucius. The Chinese community is celebrating the philosophers birthday with a three day festival. And google celebrates with them with a wonderful Confucius logo.

I mean Facebook indeed made life overseas much more bearable and feeling so close to home for those who are working overseas. Now, facebook did not only provide a means of communicate for some but also for mirth, laughter and fun. I mean Facebook has so many applications on their sleeve that I can not resist trying 1 application a day. A life without Facebook seems so dull and uncultured.

With the advent of social network… communication became so easy. Finding something does not require you to hire a detective to find the best within the industry. Thank you social network sites. I have to admit Facebook has become a common ground for people coming from all walks of life.

Are you looking for a company to study Spanish English with? Perhaps Babylon Idiomas can help you with that. And you can easily find them easily- from Facebook to Linkedin. Or perhaps you are vying to book for the best apartment vacation accommodation in the most legitimate website in cyberpsace? Then Friendly Rentals will offer the best of the best quality accommodation when you chose to gaze Familia Sagrada in Barcelona or perhaps the travel in Rome.

And now, Twitter has become the smartest innovation in the social network list. From a rescue operation of Disney crew of a man who fell down on his cruise ship to ‘US Airways Flight 1549′ escapade in Hudson River in New York; all these are first twittered in Twitter before any mainstream media got hold of the news.

The influence of top social network can not be underestimated for its influence has reached even the digital cameras industry. Samsung industry recently has just launched their newest member of the family: the ST500, ST1000 and ST550. These digital camera model was launched worldwide from Bangkok, Philippines, London, New York, Seoul and Beijing are proud to showcase their features which is designed for easy-social-media/network-use.

I just could not believe that this famous social network has maintained to catch on the limelight. It seems that every minute there is something new to read about Facebook.

The first perhaps is the new feature of facebook using ‘@’ tag. This tag feature confused me a bit when I received around more than 20 emails saying that my friends or my network in Facebook tags my photo. Thus, I thought someone is bugging me. And to my surprise I received almost a dozens few tag everyday.

If tag surprises me, the idea that facebook is dieting blows my head off. Yes, Facebook is on diet thus it launched their sister company Facebook Lite. that is to say to share the success with Twitter.

It is very obvious in fact that Facebook seems like twittering now. It is borrowing almost all the features that twitter has. From tag to the mircoblogging feature it has. The Facebook lite makers is still finding ways on how to incorporate this to Facebook.

Again, with Friend A’s help we visited the social network again. To my amazements Friend A’s batch mates list seems to grow daily and that amazes me. And so Friend A tried to view another batch mates profile with the intention of sending that friend a message. And to our dismay we were again asked to provide for another 24 email addresses to contact friends or pay the little amount they asked. WE DID NOT CONTINUE.

If you had read my first article, you might notice that I had given you the freedom to decide whether Namesdatabase is a scam or not. This time I will say, do not ever get involve with the social network. Yes, in some ways it can help you track friends but so do facebook. Some people who received an email from namesdatabase is smart enough to google the social network and stumbled upon my first article and was warned; though some are unlucky and paid the required amount.

As you research about ‘namesdatabase scam’ you will find comments, articles and people asking for help on how to stop the social network from taking money from them on a yearly basis. You will also find that emailing them and requesting namesdatabase to stop your subscription mean a tedious job. Some even asked the help of their bank to stop the subscription.

As I was doing my research, I read a comment saying that this certain person does not even know why his name was on it. My first impression with the comment was ‘perhaps he has forgotten’. Yet, as I was a little bit chatty about the article I am working on a colleague commented that she too does not know why her complete name is on it too. This time, I am not reading on ‘someone else comment from cyber space’ but I have a very trusted colleague who said so that she is confuse until now why she is on it.

If on the first article I gave you the option of deciding whether to join or not… now I am totally recommending that you should do a background check first before hitting the join button.

I wonder if there is such a cyber police or court that we can ask assistance with? I think we need such entity to help thousands of individual who has been swindled by the social network.
